Meet the Team Behind Your Smile
GREAT DENTISTRY ISN’T A ONE-PERSON JOB.
At Riverview Dental Clinic, exceptional care happens when talented people work together. Our award-winning dental providers and dedicated team bring different skills, perspectives, and strengths to every patient experience—and we're always learning how to do it better.
We invest in continuing education, advanced dental technology, and professional development because great care doesn't stand still. From comprehensive exams and preventive care to restorative and advanced dentistry, our team stays current on the latest techniques and approaches so you can feel confident in the care you receive.
But expertise is only part of what makes a great dental experience. We look out for one another, take ownership, communicate openly, and genuinely care about the people who trust us with their smiles. You'll see that in the little things: a warm welcome, a thorough explanation, a thoughtful handoff, or someone making sure you're comfortable before you leave.
Because when our team rises, our patients rise with us.
Hi, I’m Dr. Kelvin Shane and welcome to my dental office!
I’m a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where in 2014 I graduated with distinction. Prior to receiving my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, I attended the University of North Dakota (Go Sioux!), where I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Biology on a Presidential Scholarship. During these years, I received many awards for academic achievement and volunteered within my community. A central focus of my professional journey is learning new ways of providing the very best and most comfortable experiences for my patients.
I’m committed to providing continued excellence in dentistry. Expect to have honest conversations about your treatment and have your experiences understood. Utilizing the latest technology, we’ll discuss treatment options to keep you informed about your oral health, make recommendations, and customize a step-by-step plan to achieve the results you want.
While dentistry is my number one hobby, I also enjoy traveling, bicycling, and spending time outdoors. As a Hudson resident, I strive to build my practice as a representation of community, health, and lifelong learning.
Hi, I’m Sydney and I’m excited to come full circle at the place that feels like home.
My journey with Riverview started in 2021, when I joined the team as a high school student working at the front desk. Since then, I’ve grown alongside the practice, working my way from administrative assistant to sterilization assistant to dental assistant. Now, after years of learning with this team, I’m excited to come full circle as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry with my Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, where I was honored to be named to the Dean’s List. I’m passionate about helping patients understand their oral health and feel confident in their care. I believe hygiene appointments are about more than a cleaning, rather they’re an opportunity to build trust, catch problems early, answer questions, and work together toward a healthy smile for life. Having grown within Riverview, I’m especially excited to bring what I’ve learned back to the patients and team who have been such an important part of my journey.
Outside of dentistry, I love staying active with pickleball, yoga, and trips to the gym, as well as spending time with friends and family. And, of course, I’m always up for enjoying Hudson’s beautiful outdoors—especially in the summer. I’m also known around the office for keeping things light and giving Dr. Shane a hard time whenever the opportunity presents itself. After all, someone has to keep him humble!
Small office.
Big heart.
One team.
At Riverview Dental Clinic, the best care happens when a great team works together.
We invest in learning, look out for one another, take ownership, and genuinely care about the people who trust us with their smiles.
The Crew
We each bring something different to the boat.
Brittany
Brittany joined the Riverview crew in 2018 and has been an invaluable part of the ship ever since. She holds a Master's degree in Dental Therapy from the University of Minnesota—and in a fun twist of fate, she and Dr. Shane actually met during dental school.
Brittany brings a wonderfully diverse skill set to Riverview and has a knack for wearing whatever hat the day calls for. She might be expertly polishing a temporary crown one minute and helping a patient make sense of their insurance the next. She's knowledgeable, adaptable, and exceptionally good at keeping both the details and the bigger picture in view.
She's also one of those people who quietly makes a team better. Brittany is dependable, thoughtful, and always ready to jump in when a teammate—or a patient—needs a hand.
Outside the office, Brittany can usually be found curled up with a good book, tending to her garden, or exploring another charming corner of Hudson.
Office Manager
Emmy
Emmy has been part of Riverview Dental Clinic from the very beginning and has grown alongside the practice every step of the way. She initially joined us with aspirations of becoming a dentist, but over the years, she discovered her own path and found new ways to pursue the things she loves. She brings that same curiosity, determination, and willingness to learn to everything she does at Riverview.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and brings years of dental experience and a steady, can-do presence to our team. Emmy has a knack for keeping things moving and jumping in wherever she’s needed, whether she’s supporting the clinical team, helping a patient feel comfortable, or tackling whatever the day brings.
Outside the office, Emmy is an avid distance runner and coach and an entrepreneur at heart. She enjoys building businesses around her passions, including distance running and goose hunting through her own goose call and guiding ventures. We’ve loved watching her turn those interests into something of her own—and we’re proud that Riverview has been part of her journey along the way.
Dental Assistant
Dental AssistantKennedy
Kennedy joined the Riverview crew in 2024 with her sights set on becoming a dental hygienist—and we've had a front-row seat to watching her grow. What started as a spark has turned into something pretty hard to miss. Kennedy is currently pursuing her Dental Hygiene degree at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC), where she's building the knowledge and clinical skills that will take her to the next chapter of her career.
Over the past few years, Kennedy has really come into her own. She's curious, driven, and always willing to learn, but what makes her especially fun to have around is her ability to bring some levity to even the busiest days. She's quick with a joke, doesn't take herself too seriously, and has a way of making the people around her smile.
Outside the office and classroom, Kennedy loves being outdoors, hunting, staying active with Pilates, and keeping up with her energetic new lab puppy, Howie. She's got a lot on her horizon—and we're pretty excited to watch where she goes next.
Every crew needs a good first mate.
Loki
Chief Barketing Officer, EmeritusLoki became a beloved member of our team in 2017, quickly earning a special place in the hearts of both staff and patients. His warm and friendly demeanor made him an inspiration to all who met him. Loki’s favorite parts of his job included greeting patients, participating in hourly “treat training” sessions with the staff, and enjoying peaceful naps in the office. He brought joy and comfort to everyone who crossed his path.
In 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer, Loki retired from patient care. While he may no longer be with us in the office, his spirit and the memories he created will always remain an integral part of our team. Loki will be deeply missed by all of us at Riverview Dental Clinic, but his legacy of love and companionship will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In 2025, Freyja joined our team, bringing boundless energy, a big heart, and a knack for turning cardboard into confetti. As she begins her journey with the team, Freyja is proudly carrying on the legacy of our beloved Loki, whose gentle spirit still fills our halls.
With a passion for making people smile (and a strong interest in snack-based diplomacy), Freyja spends the workday performing regular rounds to ensure everyone is having a good day. Whether she’s greeting patients with a tail wag or helping the team “recycle” boxes with great enthusiasm, Freyja is all in when it comes to her duties.
